Integrating prognosis-related genes with immune-related gene signature for development and validation of a survival stratification model for early-stage colorectal cancer

This study developed a gene-pair index for recurrence risk stratification in early-stage colorectal cancer using prognosis-related and immune-related genes. The 10-gene-pair model was trained and validated across 1,525 patients and separated high- and low-risk groups for disease-free survival while remaining robust to differences among gene-expression platforms. It also characterized immune and stromal infiltration and may support decisions about adjuvant chemotherapy.
