Advanced Science: Brim enables pathology-only pan-cancer survival prediction

Our team reported Brim in Advanced Science, an interpretable multimodal fusion model for bridged histology-genomics survival prediction in pan-cancer.

Brim is trained with both whole-slide pathology images and molecular features, but can be deployed using routine pathology slides only, making clinical translation much easier.

Key points:

• Validated across 12 cancer types and 5,000+ patients.
• Outperformed single-modality and conventional multimodal baselines in survival prediction.
• Preserved interpretability with attention and attribution analyses for clinically relevant regions.
