Our team reported in International Journal of Surgery that tertiary lymphoid structure heterogeneity can define clinically meaningful colorectal cancer subgroups.

The study integrated multi-omics data, digital pathology, and clinicopathological information to characterize distinct TLS patterns and derive a quantitative TLSscore for patient stratification.

Key points:

  • Identified three TLS patterns in colorectal cancer with distinct immune, stromal, and prognostic features.
  • Developed a nine-gene TLSscore for individual-level risk and treatment stratification.
  • Suggested lower TLSscore may align with immunotherapy benefit, while higher TLSscore may favor adjuvant chemotherapy.
